Anyways! We went into the city today.. It took about an hour & a half to get their from warboys.. Costing 15 pounds via train and than an 'underground oyster card'... Friends of Tasha's accompanied us, I had met them at the base club the night prior ...
I'm trying to remember where we went first?! Currently I'm sitting on the tube to go back home.. I guess we will go backwards until I remember.. Well we walked like a beast! All over the city. And didn't even complain!! Proud moments! We visited a park with really cool brightly colored lounge seating.. I ended up buying a really old book of Poetry for Liz... & we tasted "Ice cream".. I put it in quotes because it tasted like a lightly chilled cool whip. Which.. Is so unsatisfying on a hot day! Ha.
We took photos by the London Eye & the Thames River.. Threw bread at pigeons, refused to pay 19 pounds to go on the Eye, and saw a really cool sand castle builder, crazy graffiti at a skate park, and a man playing a portable piano on the beach.. At Camden Market we went to this crazy rave / nightclub store that sold clothes that could have outfitted Zenon, girl from the 21st century ... And other interesting bondage stuff.
Camden market had really really really cool building facades!! It was like punk rock / hipster architecture heaven! There was shoes coming out of building, crazy bright colors and tattoo Parlors on every block!
Lots of stuff to buy, t shirts and jewelry ... But I've learned the art of being broke and not buying nick nacks...
I did get two post cards tho ;)
So now! I am sitting on the train back to Warboys... Tasha, Meer, and I took 20 minutes to decide on food (it was like euro trip part 1 flashback haha) while the other two got Burger King. Gross!!
We got this fantastic pizza from a local whole in the wall joint: while there.. I met two blokes... They talked to me about how Kings Cross (the area I was in) was a big prostitution and drug area back in the day.. But it's cleaned up since then.. I Guess that area is what gave London a bad rep back then?! They also have been going to Royal Pizza since the 80s.. They'll buy a beer (about 1.4 pounds) from the local store and buy a cheap pizza, sit in the shop and people watch! They were really cool.. So I got a photo with them
Anyway, we took their advice and grabbed strongbows for the ride home and ate pizza in Kings Cross station on the floor ...
